fla
i'm on a family vacation in florida.
my cousin's wedding was on saturday, that's why we came here.
it's pretty nice. we're staying in some condos in Sebastian, on the east coast.
yesterday we went to a beach in Port St. Lucie, where my cousins live.
BATHTUB BEACH! the water there was shallow, in front of a reef.
i went snorkeling, and it was really awesome. it's so surreal.
everything looks bigger under the water.
it all kind of sways around with the movement of the water.
i saw a bunch of cool looking fishies. :)
i found a mini-habitat in a shell. underwater, it looked incredible.
like it's own little world, smaller than the palm of my hand.
i brought it up out of the water for a second and it looked really lame.
so i stayed underwater most of the time.
i felt like i was in the life aquatic.
today i'm going to the other coast, the west coast.
my super good friend, jamie, moved here about a year ago (?)
so i am way excited to see her. she lives in Terra Ceia, right by the gulf
Terra Ceia is pretty close to Tampa, so I hope we go there.
i'm excited to see where she lives. and the beaches on that side are different!
i will compare them! =D aha
it's rainy season here in florida. it rains every day around 4:00
but then it gets sunny again!
so, i'm having a good time. florida is a beautiful state.
but, i do miss milwaukee, wisconsin.
oh! and my cousins are going to give me one of their birds!
it's a blue quaker parrot. they breed these birds.
this one is only 3 months old right now. it's a girl, and she is gorgeous!
the blue and turquoise colors are so pretty and she is a sweetheart.
this isn't her, but this is what she looks like, except prettier :) hah

wagon wheel
Headed down south to the land of the pines
And I'm thumbin' my way into North Caroline
Starin' up the road
Pray to God I see headlights
I made it down the coast in seventeen hours
Pickin' me a bouquet of dogwood flowers
And I'm a hopin' for Raleigh
I can see my baby tonight
So rock me mama like a wagon wheel
Rock me mama anyway you feel
Hey mama rock me
Rock me mama like the wind and the rain
Rock me mama like a south-bound train
Hey mama rock me
Runnin' from the cold up in New England
I was born to be a fiddler in an old-time stringband
My baby plays the guitar
I pick a banjo now
Oh, the North country winters keep a gettin' me now
Lost my money playin' poker so I had to up and leave
But I ain't a turnin' back
To livin' that old life no more
So rock me mama like a wagon wheel
Rock me mama anyway you feel
Hey mama rock me
Rock me mama like the wind and the rain
Rock me mama like a south-bound train
Hey mama rock me
Walkin' to the south out of Roanoke
I caught a trucker out of Philly
Had a nice long toke
But he's a headed west from the Cumberland Gap
To Johnson City, Tennessee
And I gotta get a move on before the sun
I hear my baby callin' my name
And I know that she's the only one
And if I die in Raleigh
At least I will die free
So rock me mama like a wagon wheel
Rock me mama anyway you feel
Hey mama rock me
Rock me mama like the wind and the rain
Rock me mama like a south-bound train
Hey mama rock me
